Memorial services were conducted today at Arcadia, Calif., for C.E. “Ned” Rowland, 62, who died at 10 p.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital at Arcadia. A former Crawfordsville resident, Mr. Rowland was a hydraulic engineer and owned and operated his own business at Arcadia. He was graduated from Purdue University in 1937 and lived in California from that time. Born June 21, 1913, at Louisville, Ky., he was a son of Daniel G. and Bertha D. Rowland. Surviving are a son and daughter, Charles E. Rowland Jr. and Nancy Gillett, both of San Francisco, Calif.; two brothers, D. G. Rowland III of Crawfordsville and William K. Rowland of Woodstock, Ill.; and five grandchildren. – jlr
